Dr Ania Zubala
Ania joined SISCC in September 2014 as a mixed-methods Research Fellow. She has since worked on a number of SISCC projects and primarily in the Older People Health and Wellbeing workstream. Before her role in SISCC Ania was focusing on her doctoral project, evaluating the potential of arts therapies to address depression. This work concluded in a number of publications and is being followed by a book gathering research evidence in arts therapies and depression, which Ania is co-editing (to be published by Routledge in 2017). Prior to her life in academia Ania worked in clinical roles in mental health settings, in health and charity sectors. Her research interests oscillate around holistically-understood wellbeing and particularly around the role of creativity, arts and non-pharmaceutical interventions for the wellbeing of ageing populations.
Areas of responsibilities at SISCC: Currently Ania is a lead researcher for the Knowledge into Action at Scale project, funded by the Health Foundation, where she undertakes the evaluation of two MOOCs developed by SISCC, on the subjects of compassionate care and inequalities in health and social care.
