Professor Mary Renfrew FRSE, Director of SISCC
Professor Mary Renfrew is Professor of Mother and Infant Health and Associate Dean for Research, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, University of Dundee. With over 30 years’ experience as a health researcher with a background in midwifery and nursing, she has led the multidisciplinary Mother and Infant Research Unit for 18 years. She is a member of the WHO working group on quality of care in midwifery, and has previously led improvement work for the Yorkshire and Humber Health Innovation and Education Cluster, and the NICE Public Health Collaborating Centre for Maternal and Child Nutrition.She has recently led work to develop an evidence-based quality framework for global maternal and newborn health for The Lancet Series on Midwifery. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
