The SISCC Older People Work-stream advisory group took place in Dundee on Wednesday, 8th of June 2016. This workshop brought together pharmacists, GPs, academics, third sector representatives and members of the public to discuss the work-stream aims and progress.
Dr Madalina Toma and SISCC colleagues are presenting a poster on “The purpose, design and use of balancing measures in quality and safety improvement” at the NHS Scotland Conference
Dr Helen Frost and SISCC colleagues have had an abstract accepted for a presentation and poster on “Effectiveness of motivational interviewing on adult behaviour change in health and social care settings: An overview of reviews” at the 2016 European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (ER-WCPT) Congress in Liverpool (11-12 November).
Professor Mary Renfrew, Dr Madalina Toma and Dr Jenna Breckenridge recently presented SISCC work at the Healthcare Improvement Scotland 4th Annual Research Symposium.
The Healthcare Improvement Scotland 4th Annual Research Symposium: ‘Mobilising evidence to drive improvement’ took place on Thursday 17 March 2016, at COSLA conference centre in Edinburgh. We have really enjoyed the day, the enthusiasm and the excellent ideas for strengthening the evidence base for improvement.

We are delighted to welcome two new PhD students to the SISCC team: Julie McLaren and Anne-Marie Craig. In the early stages of the development of the Scottish Improvement Science Collaborating Centre (SISCC) endeavour I had a conversation with Prof Huw Davies about any previous review work he had been involved in or was aware of that would inform our activities.
